Kira's Special Day

Today is Kira's birthday.
She is counting twenty-nine years today.

Birthday's seldom go the way we would like them to.
There never seems to be enough time to do everything.

On the homestead, there are still chores to do.
Fortunately, most of them are fun.

Kira has been eager to get to work on the garden.
The animals have done their part, the seeds are here, and the ground is warm.

Meer is getting to be a little bit independent.
She is quickly learning to keep herself busy for a while.

So today is a birthday of gardening and watching the children play.
There was also leek pizza on the barbeque, and cream puffs for dessert.

The guest list was kept to a party of five.
Of course it always feels busy when the chickens are bugging for party food.

Please don't get the impression that I helped with the cooking and baking.
